Dishwasher Tablets
Fizzing tablets from soda crystals, oxygen bleach and citric acid.
Makes about 50 tablets
You'll need
- 2 cups soda crystals
- 1 cup oxygen bleach, sodium percarbonate
- ½ cup citric acid
- 40–60 drops lemon essential oil
Equipment
- mixing bowl
- silicone moulds or ice cube trays
- airtight container
Method
- Mix all the dry ingredients together and stir thoroughly.
- Add the essential oils and stir. It will start to set, so press it into moulds or ice cube trays straight away.
- Leave to dry for 24–48 hours.
- Store in an airtight container.
How to use
We put 2–3 tablets in each wash.
They’re handy for other cleaning too. For a stained bottle or container, fill it with water, drop in a tablet and leave it overnight.
Safety
- Can irritate eyes and skin. Avoid contact, and rinse with plenty of water if needed.
- Keep dry. Damp makes it clump and lose strength.
- Never mix with bleach.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store in a clearly labelled container.
